About the Data

The statistics on this site are based on official MOT test results from 2024 to September 2025, sourced from the UK Government’s MOT database (GOV.UK). We have combined and analysed millions of individual MOT records to identify trends and highlight the most common faults for each make, model, and year.

Each model-year summary shows how often that specific vehicle fails its MOT and how it compares to the average car of the same year. This allows you to see whether a model tends to perform better or worse than typical vehicles of its age.

Data provided by GOV.UK under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (OGL).
